Yen Press licenses High School DxD =D

Snow Tidings! ^^/

I’ve been in a happy mood today. It came to my attention that the Yen Press publishers are going to publish the manga High School DxD. =D

For those who are not aware a manga is like a Japanese comic. What a comic is to the western continent a manga is to the eastern continent. In a comic you read the panels from left to right, in a manga you read the panels from right to left.

There are certain publishers who are known to publish manga. These publishers are:

  • VizMedia
  • YenPress
  • Kodansha
  • Vertical
  • Dark Horse
  • Seven Seas

High School DxD is one of my favourite Anime and I’m absolutely thrilled that it’s going to be released officially in English. No publisher is better suited, in my opinion, then Yen Press. Why? I shall explain.

Out of all the publishers that publish manga Yen Press is the only manga-type publishers that will publish light novels.  Light novels, if I were to describe them in my own words, is like an annotation form of manga. It is basically like a novel with illustrations being periodically shown on certain pages. More often than not the author of the light novel will adapt the story into a manga. I guess you could say this as an alternative format of the original story. The only difference is that instead of picturing scenes and characters in your head you get to see how the story unfolds visually.

High School DxD started off as a light novel, which was then adapted into a manga, which then eventually received the green light to become an Anime. The light novel of High School DxD has been highly talked about online.

Yen Press sell several light novels like Spice and Wolf and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, both of which have sold extremely well in the market.

If the High School DxD manga sells well enough then this might tempt Yen Press to start publishing the High School DxD light novels. Fingers crossed. =D

Whatever should happen I’m very exciting about the prospect of the manga being released next year. The light novel being released would just be a marvellous bonus.

Happy time, ^^/

My 2013 Christmas

My past two Anime blogs might have been heavy for some for those who are not enthusiastic about Anime. This blog is about how I spent my Christmas! =D

Here are a few of my festive pictures…

This week, since its Christmas, I’ve been going to bed later than usual, 3 O’clock in the morning to be precise. I’ve done that for the past couple of days, including Christmas morning! I’m overdue a very long sleep. I’m even tired as I’m typing this right now. I’m the sort of person who enjoys getting up early. I get that morning brisk feel. When I get up late I tend to be jaded, even when I got to bed early the previous day.

On Christmas Eve I travelled over to my sister’s house, as per Christmas Eve tradition. I think lack of sleep did catch up on me as my head started to swell. In all truth I did fancy going home early but I wanted to try and soak up the atmosphere as much as I could. And I wanted to be there when it was 00:00 hours. XD! I promised myself that as soon as I got in that I would go straight to bed. Well… when I walked in my Mum had Home Alone 2 on the TV. And well, not watching Home Alone on Christmas is very rude… so, I stayed up to watch it.

That night I went to bed around 2 O clock…

Christmas morning came and I could not literally open my eyes.

The first thing I opened was my Santa sack. Some may still consider this childish but I consider this fun. My Mum also gets a Santa Sack. She was very happy with her presents! =)

I’ve been quite creative with presents this year- to give to people. On each name tag instead of writing the person’s name I placed the picture inside of that name tag that I personally associate that person with. I never planned it from the start; it was an impromptu moment on my part. I just finished wrapping all the presents when the sudden idea came to me. So, I downloaded the pictures from Google, decreased their sizes, printed them off and stuck them on the name tags of the presents with tape.

I gave my Mum a picture of minions, my Dad a picture of a sailor’s cap, my sister a picture of Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter, for Dale (my sister’s fiancé) a picture of Ole Gunnar Solksjear, Sarah (my brother’s fiancée) a picture of Minnie Mouse and my brother a picture of a chimp… don’t worry, he understands the reference. 😉

Everyone seemed to be pleased with the presents I bought this year. A highlight for me I must say is the present I got Dale- Class of 92 DVD… Well. In my household, around Christmas time, I try to deceive my relatives by disguising my presents in peculiar ways to try and throw them off the scent…for Dale’s present I disguised his in the form of a Charlton Athletic towel. But I knew that the Charlton towel could come undone at any time so I tied it with one of my scarves. XD!

After we opened the presents we started to play the Cranium game.

This is certainly a good game and is always full of laughs. However, by this time, I was completely wiped out. I kept on almost falling asleep.  Whilst I certainly do enjoy company there were times where I wanted to be alone. I needed to unwind for a couple of minutes then join in with the socialising again. I didn’t really want to spoil the fun so I tried to plod on and see the funny side of things. But because I was on the verge of falling asleep I wasn’t in a laughing mood.

Boxing Day is the second most wonderful time of the year since it’s the huge half price season! I usually venture on this quest as per tradition. However, I felt very tired and there wasn’t anything particular that I wanted. So, I opted to stay in and watch the Football instead. Charlton beat Brighton 3-2. Good job! =D

Ah yes I forgot to mention that I got a good set of presents this year.

I hope I’m not being misunderstood when I say that getting Monster Musume was especially wonderful. I definitely loved the other presents and I loved how not all of them came from my list. It’s no fun when you predict what you’re going to get, haha. Whilst I love all the presents I must say that Monster Musume was the one I wanted the most this year.

I don’t want to sound dramatic or anything like that but getting the Monster Musume volume one manga made me quite emotionally happy. Perhaps it’s because I’m tired and I can’t think of the correct words? Whatever the case I’m really happy that I got Monster Musume. It’s one of those cases where I can’t put my feelings into words.

For a good year or so I’ve been reading the Monster Musume manga online and since then it’s been in my top five favourite manga. At some point this year it came to my attention that Seven Seas publishers bought the rights to publish this in English. I immediately thought- that is going to make an amazing Christmas present. So, instead of buying it ASAP I opted to be patient and wait until I got it at Christmas. I kept on giving hints to family members how much I wanted it, just so I definitely got it as a present. =D The first volume was officially released in October so that’s why I added it to my list. =)

And now that I actually have the actual paperback copy in my household, the feeling hasn’t actually sunken in. I guess it’s one of those feelings where I know I own it, but I can’t believe I own it. I’ve been waiting for a long time to get my hands on a copy and now I have a copy it’s simply a wonderful feeling. Now, I can actually buy copies of volumes instead of streaming online. =)

I’m certainly going to give this a good read tonight with a hot chocolate and that fancy light torch thing that my good old friend, Cheese, got me for Chrimbo. =D

I’ve pretty much finished my typing for the night but I will wrap this up with a few more sentences…

It’s been two days and I still keep on going to bed at 3am. Golly gosh! Not to worry though since everything will be back to normal soon.

I sincerely hope your Christmas was as fantastic as mine. =)

Until next time, ^^/

Ps. I’m going to make new sections/topics in the near future so stay tuned. =) Goodnight!

My Favourite Anime Openings and Endings Part Two

Snow Tidings. ^^/

This is a continuation from my previous blog post. The last blog post I waffled briefly about Anime and my favourite Anime openings from this season. This blog is about my favourite Anime endings from this season.^^’

My Favourite Ending Songs

5.Wanna be the Strongest in the World

Fan Fanfare!!!

Kover Ani 3, 2013. Sekai de Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritait ED PV. Available at:

<; [Accessed 21/12/2013]

This song was performed by Sweet Diva which comsists of five Japanese voice actors, who also perform as certain characters in this Anime. =D

Why I like This:

It’s just fun to listen to. It’s very energetic. =D

4.Ore no Nounai…OreNome. 😉

Taiyou to Tsuki no Cross

Desukanki, 2013. Ore no Nounai Sentakushi ga, Gakuen Love Comedy wo Zenryoku de Jama Shiteiru ED [1080 HD]. Available at:

<; [Accessed 21/12/2013]

This video has three versions. The song was performed by TWO-Formula.

Why I like This:

For some reason I feel an air of something unfulfilled- like unrequited love. I’m judging that by the way the singer is singing and by the way that the guitars were strumming. XD In all three versions the girls looked quite sad, so yes, I have a feeling that this represents unrequited love. I don’t like sad things but I think this is very nice. It’s sad yet beautiful.

3.Non Non Biyori

Non Non Biyori

エルヴィンスミス, 2013. 【のんのんびよりED】 「のんのん日和」 FULL 歌詞付 高音質. Available at:

<; [Accessed 21/12/2013]

I couldn’t find the ending video so I’m going to share with you the full version of this song instead! =D This song was performed by the entire acting cast.

Why I like This:

It was executed brilliantly, in my opinion. 🙂 This song has a very good feel to it. It makes me feel very happy listening to it. It’s simple but very, very effective.

2.Infinite Stratos 2

TheBlackReaper375, 2013. IS Infinite Stratos 2 ED (Lingyin Ver). Available at:

<; [Accessed 21/12/2013]

This video has different versions with different female characters posing in the background. This is the Lingyin version. This was performed by the Infinite Stratos 2 cast; Yoko Hikasa, Yukana, Asami Shimoda, Kana Hanazawa, Marina Inoue, Chiwa Saito and Suzuko Mimori.

Why I like This:

This song is just awesome. I love the combination/contrast of different singing voices with different singing styles mashed against each other. I also find it very fascinating how the characters are running in sync with each other. That’s without doubt my favourite part. I wondered if BEAUTIFUL SKY was going to be as good as the first season’s ending, SUPER STREAM, but in my opinion it’s just as good.^^

1.Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai

Maware! Setsugetsuka

AxeVisionX, 2013. [Ending] Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai. Available at:

<; [Accessed 21/12/2013]

This song was performed by the cast; Hitomi Harada, Ai Kayano and Yui Ogura. There are three ending versions of this song, I’ve shared the Hitomi Harada/Yaya version.^^

Why I like This:

Infinite Stratos do great songs but for me there was no ending theme that I was going to like more than this one. I find this song too irresistible, I constantly want to play it over and over again and never get tired of it. The video is quite quirky and surreal but it doesn’t matter since it’s just that great. =D

Unfortunately this season’s Anime is pretty much finished since the autumn season is nearly over. At some point, after Christmas, I’m going to share with you what Anime I watched and tell you my thoughts. I hope you look forward to it.

It’s no secret that I created this blog to talk about how I handle social situations and how I cope with Autism. However,  I feel that it is necessary to talk about my thoughts and my keen interests, like Anime for example. 🙂

1 more sleep until Chrimbo, hoho. 😀

Happy Christmas everyone,

My Favourite Anime Openings and Endings Part One

Snow Tidings! ^^/

All my Christmas cards are all sent and I bought all my presents for family and friends. I’m definitely done for Christmas …or so I thought. Here I was thinking to myself that I had nothing else to do when I suddenly remembered that I have yet to wrap any presents. XD! I’m not worried though, last year I wrapped all my presents on Christmas morning (whilst avoiding Father Christmas ;-)).

I mentioned in the first blog that one of my keen interests is Anime, and so, I’m going to talk about Anime in this very blog. =D

I’m going to be talking about my favourite Anime songs but before I do I’m going to give you a run down what Anime is in case you haven’t heard of it before. Whether my explanation makes sense or not remains to be seen.  ;-D

In short Anime (pronounced An-e-may) is a Japanese animated show- basically a cartoon. An Anime can be identified by the animated characters in the show. The face and eyes are not necessarily drawn to match the proportion of their body. A character’s eyes are especially drawn big to exemplify the cute and innocence of the character. Young female characters especially have big eyes to add to the attraction of their appearance.

The best examples of Anime (the plural of Anime is Anime) I can think of from the top of my head…Pokémon, Spirited Away, My Neighbour is Totoro, Dragon Ball, Death Note, One Piece, Fullmetal Alchemist, Naruto, Attack on Titan, Yu-Gi-Oh and Hello Kitty. The latter is probably more popular as a merchandise rather than as a TV series. ^^’

I’m going to go into depth about Anime some other time but for now I’m going straight to the point.^^

Japanese Animated shows are aired in four seasons:

  • Winter Season (January – March)
  • Spring Season (April-June)
  • Summer Season (July-September)
  • Autumn Season (October-December) <- This is the current Anime season

There are usually 12 or 13  Anime episodes per season. Some Anime are continuously aired and will not stop unless it’s either cancelled or the story is finished. Sazae-San, for example, has been airing on Japanese television since 1969. Last September the Guinness Book of Records recognised Sazae-San as the longest running animated show in the history of television. *clap, clap, clap*

Each Anime programme contains an opening song and an ending song. I’m going to share with you my personal top five favourite opening and ending songs from this season. However, I’m going to share them through the magic of YouTube. 😉

My Favourite Opening Songs

5. Monogatari Second Season

Happy Bite

JOS pk, 2013. Monogatari Series Second Season Opening 2 [720p].

Available at: <;

[Accessed 21/12/2013]

This song is performed by Emiri Katou who portrays one of the key characters in this Anime- Mayoi. The character Mayoi is the girl you see in this video. She is very funny and very cheeky! Believe it or not Emiri is actually singing in character- singing as how her character would sing. To me, that takes one heck of a lot of talent. =D Singing is one thing but singing as your character is a whole lot different.

This was Monogatari Second Season’s second opening.

Why I like This:

I have no strong reason to like this except that I enjoyed watching the creativity behind this video and I listening to the song. The Monogatari opening themes and music videos are very significant and relate directly to the story and plot of Monogatari. Because of this I feel that I must watch what I say as I will probably give the story away…it wouldn’t be the first time that I did something like this! XD

4. Ore no Nounai Sentakushi ga… let’s just call it “OreNome” for now, it’s far more simple to type and read. ^^/

S ° M ° L

meido tyan, 2013. Ore no Nounai Sentakushi ga, Gakuen Love Comedy wo Zenryoku de Jama Shiteiru Opening.

Available at: <> %5BAccessed 21/12/2013]

This song was performed by the enthusiastic JPop group Afilia Saga.

Why I like This:

I just find this song very catchy. I especially like female characters that are eccentric, quirky and cute and you can see in this video that they’re a lot of those kinds of girls in this Anime! Hoho. =D

3. Monogatari Series Second Season

TeamATDE, 2013. [HD + Lyrics] Otori Monogatari OP 2 ‘DelusionExpress’ もうそうえくすぷれす.

Available at: <; [Accessed 21/12/2013]

This song was performed by Kana Hanazawa. Like Emiri Katou with Happy Bite, Kana Hanazawa sings as her character in this opening song. She performs as the character Nadeko Sengoku.

I think it’s a great opening.  Unless you’re a fan of the Monogatari series you probably won’t appreciate the charm and significance behind this video.

Why I like This:

I think this is a fantastic video and song and in my opinion a lot of deep psychological meaning behind this song. This opening song of Monogatari series is related to the fourth opening of Bakemonogatari titled Ren’ai Circulation.

Check it out here ->

Yorusora Yukimura, 2010. [Special] Renai Circulation –Vietsub.

Available at: <; [Accessed 21/12/2013]

If you look carefully and compare the two videos you will see that both videos had similar scenes…with a big significance. In the Ren’ai Circulation song you will see the girl being all happy and feeling positive because of her love for the boy in the video. In the second video, Mousou Express, those exact same scenes are there but going backwards.

To me it’s like she was taking a step forward to get closer to the boy [Araragi] in the video. But in the second video, with everything going backwards, I see that she’s drifting away from him. Like, all the hard work she did went completely undone. Either that or she decided to give up on him. She wants him to love her but no matter what happens he will always be out of reach. The way she walks away from him by his side illustrates this point. The music is certainly a lot different and not as vibrant, energetic or happy-go-lucky as the first one.

I’ll tell you my thoughts on Monogatari on a later date but for now this is my personal assessment of the Monogatari’s third opening.:-)

2.Non Non Biyori

Nanairo Biyori

halil bulaklı, 2013. Non Non Biyori OP.

Available at:<;

[Accessed 21/12/2013]

This song was performed by nano.RIPE

Why I like This:

Everything about the music and video I find calm and peaceful. Listening to this always makes me happy and engaged with a relaxed mind. The show is amazing as well.

1.Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai

Vanishing drago, 2013. Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai – Opening.

Available at: <; [Accessed 21/12/2013]

This song was performed by Hitomi Harada who portrays the main heroine character in this Anime- Yaya. She is extremely cute! =D

Why I like this:

This Anime is based in London, England. =D Ahem- I mainly like this because it feels like there’s a superior motive behind this song. I find it exciting. I’m not a Musicologist but it feels like the singer, Hitomi Hadara, is travelling on an epic adventure- like she’s going into her own kind of battle! Whatever battle she faces she is very determined and passionate… I can speak minimal Japanese but I can feel her passion through her voice. =D Well, that’s how I feel when I listen to this! 🙂

I must say though, the ending is far more catchy and up-lifting then the opening. =D

That’s my top five Anime openings, hope you enjoyed reading this evening’s blog. See you more in part two, just four more sleeps to go. ^^/

A Festive Trip to Bents

Snow Tidings! ^^/

Have you done your Christmas shopping yet? I have and fortunately I’m more or less done. All I need to do now is to spend my Christmas pennies on a certain someone and then I will be finished. 🙂

My next step is to write Christmas cards. Some folks don’t like this procedure, but I most certainly do. I love hand writing and I always give myself an excuse to write. 😀

I figured that I’d treat myself this year and went to buy some decorations for my room. I went to Bents with my Sister and her fiancé, Dale. They’re soon to become husband and wife but that’s another story to tell in another blog. I wanted to go for a traditional yet modern theme for my bedroom.

Like every year Bents always have such wonderful Christmas things on display. I got my Father Christmas train and Father Christmas figure at Bents a couple of years ago. I still have them to this day. =D I had a good mowsy round but unfortunately nothing really took my fancy. Although I was nearly tempted to try out the expensive massage chair for free…XD

I nearly went home without spending a penny when I spotted certain items for sale- Father Christmas figures. They had a special offer on. If you buy one Father Christmas you get another one for free. I already have a Father Christmas but then I remembered that certain people didn’t have them. So I bought one so I could deliberately have the other one for free. One would be a present for my Mum and the other could be for another family member. She got very excited when she saw them both; in fact she liked them so much that she wanted to keep them both. I saw no reason why she couldn’t so I allowed her to have both. 😉 I bought a few Chrimbo items too that would make my room look more festive. =)

Here are a couple of photos of the Father Christmas figures that I bought.

There was a bit of a rush at the end since the store was closing, fortunately for us we were able to buy them just in the nick of time.

All in all I conclude that this was a successful shopping trip. ^^/

Good Tidings! ^^/

I mentioned previously that my Brother’s birthday was coming up. Well, it was a couple of days ago now and he’s now 27 years old. As well as arranging a Segway event I also bought him a present. I bought him an Anime figure; it’s Mio from the Anime K-On. If you get the chance you should give K-On a watch, it’s very funny, light-hearted and full of great songs. =)

Before I get off the beaten track I’m going to talk about the Pub Quiz. My brother wanted to go to the Pub Quiz to celebrate being a year older. We went to Applewood Farm.

I first started pub-quizzing at the Talbot. I didn’t really like it much, at least not at first. I’m not sure if the rowdy atmosphere made me uncomfortable or it just wasn’t my cup of tea. Nowadays we go pub-quizzing at Applewood Farm. Sometimes I come in as a substitute for a quizzer in my sister’s team, Densa. Or at times I will be part of my Brother’s team whenever we dine and quiz there.

Applewood Farm is about three times bigger than the Talbot so it’s more spacious but it’s more crowded due to popularity. Admittedly I don’t like this. I’m ok if I’m sitting in corners like I did on my Brother’s birthday night. However if I sit out in the open I’m a bit more conscious that I’m surrounded by other people. It makes me feel queasy.

Usually- a bad habit of mine- I tend to people watch, no matter who they are. I always turn around whenever someone is walking behind me. It’s instinct. I’m very sensitive to being touched so if I know there is someone behind me I instinctively turn around to see who it is. I don’t do this because I want to but I’m conscious and anxious of the fact that someone is close to me. I turn around to make sure that they don’t touch me or try any funny moves…I know they wouldn’t but my Autistic senses like to play funny games with my mind. =D

Speaking of people watching there was this cute blonde girl who served us food the other day. She had fair skin and beautiful blue eyes but what I noticed the most about her was perhaps the cutest and littlest nose I’ve ever seen! It makes me want to prod it and tickle it with a feather so I could watch her sneeze. =’D

Ahem, back to the topic-

I’m confident enough to participate in the questions, on that night I got a lot right. I identified Dusty Springfield; I answered a lot of Christmas films puzzles correctly and movie soundtracks correctly. So, it was a good night for me. I never intend to go up and play cards for money, I don’t like standing out. This is quite quirky considering that I did performing arts at Uni, but even then I never liked standing out. Apparently a Yoga expert is called a Yogi. Everyone looked at me and shook their heads with disappointment since I actually go to Yoga every Wednesday. Well, I can say with supreme confidence that I didn’t know that at all. XD

Back when I first started pub-quizzing I did get frustrated at times. If we [the team] didn’t know an answer I would make a very wild guess that’s funny and nonsense- basically the first thing that pops into my head. So, when the team didn’t know the answer and I did and spoke out, I was never taken seriously. Mostly because some of the answers I came up with were bizarre, so that was understandable.

What attributed to no one listening to my answers is the fact that I am softly spoken. I always thought that when I spoke and no one responded, I either bored them and they switched off or they were just not paying attention. So, I got frustrated. I thought that I wasn’t interesting to talk to and I bored people easily. It doesn’t happen just at the pub quiz it happens at every social event that I go to…but then it came to my attention that my voice is just too soft-spoken. That means of course that no one can hear me. Even if you sit or stand right next to me and I’m talking to you, you won’t necessarily hear me. So in some ways this is reassuring.^^

Now, even though I’m still softly-spoken (as it’s who I am) I do get stuck-in with the questions and discuss the answers without given out any “wild-guesses” so to speak. 😉

Before I sign off here is a picture of a hot chocolate that I drank last night…it was glorious.

Toodles~ ^^/

Hello ^^/

In this blog I’m going to talk about a fun recent activity- Segway.

With my Brother’s birthday just around the corner I decided to arrange a Birthday treat. So, I booked this Segway event with the GoApe Corporation, based in Delamere Forest.

This was practically the first time that I had arranged or booked an event without much assistance. I actually thought I would have been a lot more nervous or anxious. Usually the anticipation dwells on me negatively whenever I’m going out or invited out. To my surprise I didn’t give the anticipation much thought.

It’s quite unusual for me I must say but my answer was quite simple- it’s because I organised everything. Because I organised everything I felt strangely relaxed, it was as if I knew what was going to happen. More importantly I felt in control and got fixated in my head what was going to happen. If I’m following someone’s lead or get invited out- it is like I’m heading into the unknown, like I can’t predict what will happen. However if I’m arranging or organising an outing, I don’t feel like that in the slightest. Well I say all this but really this was going to be my first visit at Delamere Forest, but I’m talking more about the situation rather than the destination.

I daresay that my Brother felt more nervous than I did, because in his eyes he was probably heading out into the unknown. I only told him the Postcode since he was the one driving- Hoho. 😉 It took us about an hour or so to arrive at the forest.

Delamere Forest is quite beautiful. It’s full of trees- a lovely mixture of green and brown. As well as being nice to look at, the fresh air was very pleasant to inhale…probably due to the mass of trees!  That must mean that the Amazon must be a pleasant place to go to- minus the poisonous snakes and man-eating crocs!

Anyway- back to the subject in  hand!

The Segway experience was exciting and I would most certainly do it again in a heartbeat. Perhaps I will go in my Birthday week? Most situations I would have to think over, but if you were to ask me if I wanted to do Segway, my answer would be yes. Sure I might get anxious initially as it would be sudden (from my perspective) but ultimately I would definitely agree to it in the end. I may even get anxious through the anticipation but that will all disappear once I arrive.

There were about ten to fifteen other people there.  I volunteered myself to go on one as a first participant. I simply loved it and became quickly acquainted with it. I was quite proud of myself as I anticipated that it would take me longer to grasp. 🙂

Oh, we also got a certificate at the end for our participation- good for me. 😀 The only downside to that day was my flu…I won’t delve into that though because getting ill is not an interesting topic. 😀

My brother had a good time as well, which was the whole point since it was for his birthday treat.

Whatever will I do next?

Good Day~ ^^/
