High School DxD BorN Episode Eight Thoughts

High School DxD Born

Issei used some of his wits in the battle with the pawns and has shown that he doesn’t just rely on power. He said himself that he shouldn’t just rely on power. But… how can someone communicate with boobs? I then remind myself that this is High School DxD and no one can read the female minds, well, the boobs like Issei can. Haha. He looked like a competent leader too and dictated the battle due to boob-reading. Haha. What is that technique called? Booblingual I think. I.E., Boob Translation.

Xenovia kicked butt with her two swords. Issei giving her, well, lending her the Ascalon sword has really paved off. It does seem like the stronger the emotion the devil has, the stronger they get. It was true for the case of Akeno and Rias. Because Issei promised Akeno to take her out on a date she grew humongous motivation. Rias grey humongous power as well when she was bantering with Akeno and together they took down the Queen and two Bishops.  Good for them. It was a really good idea on Koneko’s part but I can’t help but fear for Issei. He’s going to have to deal with an excited Akeno and a jealous Rias when this whole ordeal is over. XD

Ugh, Freed is back. Why does he keep coming back? I know his appearance is significant and all but I still don’t like him. XD I thought he went through a humongous power up, yet, Kiba solo’d him. I did get pumped up when listening to Freed’s speech but got even more pumped up when Diodora gave his speech. I thought Freed was bad but Diodora is a really horrible individual. At least with Freed what you see is what you get but Diodora hid his evil side behind his smile.

I’m somewhat confused with Raynare’s involvement. Did Diodora make Raynare into a Fallen Angel or did he simply plan to kill her and give her power to Asia and make Asia his Bishop? It seems like he’s planned a lot of events even before the first season of High School DxD. I feel sorry for Asia on one hand but on the other hand I think everything has worked fine as she’s having a happy life with Issei and Rias. Anyway- I was really pleased when Issei literally beat the living snot out of him.

I did expect Diodora to put up a better fight seeing as he’s a King rank and all. Then again, maybe Issei’s anger gave him a huge power-up enough to beat any kind of King. I’m glad he didn’t kill Diodora as two wrongs never make a right. Issei proved to be the bigger man by not killing him.

And Asia kneels down and prays to God and no doubt she will get one of those electric shocks to the head. That appears to be an on-going gag in the show. But wait, a light shines over Asia and she disappears! What on earth was that! Issei and Rias busted their stomachs to save Asia and she just disappears? Maybe, just a little theory in my mind… Irina was a human but then became an angel. Perhaps, Asia grew a stronger holy power and has transported to Heaven and will eventually come back. But, maybe, she’ll become an angel instead of a re-incarnated devil.

I wonder when Asia will come back. I actually wouldn’t be surprised if Raynare actually comes back alive herself. It seems like she’s very important in this season and the more she keeps on being mentioned the more I think that she will come back alive. If she does I personally believe that she will be re-born as a better person. =)

Thanks for Reading. =)

High School DxD BorN Episode Seven Thoughts

High School DxD Born

Diodora is a rather uncaring man. He would have the audacity to trade his own bishops for Asia, all because he wants to claim her. In other words, he’s corrupt and selfish. I can’t imagine how his bishops must feel, it must have hurt them knowing that Diodora is willing to get rid of them from his own peerage. Disgraceful.

Odin’s skill and battle prowess is pretty wicked. Then again, that is to be expected as he is a Norse God. I wasn’t expecting him to be a perverted elderly man though. I was expecting him to be similar to the character Odin from the film, Thor. I suppose not all Odins can be the same.

I shook my head in discontent at how easily Asia was captured by Diodora. However, all is not lost as I have a feeling that Issei will save Asia just in time. I think he’s still holding onto the negative memory of when he couldn’t save Asia in time from dying. If he saves Asia from dying this time then he might be able to let the past go. Perhaps Diodora is going to try and defile Asia and Issei and co will arrive just in time.

When I think about it, Rias was going to go up against Diodora anyway in the first round of the Rating Game. Perhaps this battle will demonstrate which way the tide would turn if they actually faced each other in the Rating Game. However, Rias and her peerage will get an automatic bye as Diodora has been revealed to be an unkind man.

Kuroka has really cute eyes but I feel that Koneko’s are cuter. In a way I feel like Koneko is showing some personality as she’s becoming more relaxed and is happy with who she is. She’s especially relaxed around Issei and I’m pleased with how their friendship is blossoming into something greater and more touching. I think it’s really cute. =)

That little bout between Rias and Akeno was funny. I never would have thought Rias would have the nerve to get changed into a devil outfit and try to seduce Issei. I thought she wore those kinds of outfits only on battle cards. Haha. I knew she was very confident and has a bit of a sexual aura about her, but she tends to be awkward when it comes to Issei. I think this is a step up a ladder for her. It’s a win-win situation for Issei. He had both Rias and Akeno fighting over him and he touched Rias’ boob and Akeno’s nipple.

That was a smooth kiss on the cheek from Xenovia. I can’t say I ever saw that coming.

I wonder what this will mean if or when Issei gets his own peerage. Asia and Xenovia already declared their intentions of wanting to become part of his harem- ahem- peerage. Haha. I’m intrigued to see what would happen in his relationship with Rias. If he was King and had his own evil pieces, could he marry Rias if she’s still the king of her own peerage? Or, if Rias marries Issei will she become his Queen. Perhaps Issei could have more than one queen. Maybe the system wouldn’t apply and they could have their own peerage whilst married to each other.

What would have happened if Rias married Riser? Would Akeno, Koneko and Kiba become Riser’s evil pieces or will they remain as Rias’ evil pieces. Whatever happens though I’m pretty sure that Issei is going to have his own harem and Rias will somehow be involved, whether she’s his number one or not. =)

Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma Episode Nine Thoughts

Erina Endcard

I really do like Hinako, she’s very cute. Even though she has a fearsome reputation she acts very relaxed and sweet. I do think her moral dropped after Soma took away her Kaki-no-Tane. It was all for a good cause though as he served her that very same tea snack as part of a dish. I can’t describe it but he sort of coated the fish with the Kaki-no-Tane chips. I also really like the fact how Hinako is voiced by Mamiko Noto. I just know when a character is being voiced by Mamiko as she has that distinctive voice about her. I get drawn into her voice and characters every time. =)

Hinako summed up Soma perfectly in that he’s very creative despite time running against him. She looked pretty as a mermaid but I did crack up laughing when the man behind her had a meat-type head. I’m not really sure how else to describe it except that I thought it was funny. XD

I unexpectedly started to like Takumi in this episode. I pictured him to be an arrogant lad but I think he’s probably more awkward then arrogant. It was especially funny when he made that dramatic speech about next time he sees Soma it will be in a Shokugeki battle… only to find out that they would sit next to each other on the bus!  I guess all the long he just needed a rival and a friend who he can relate with. One thing for sure, Takumi and Soma will definitely respect each other from now on.

It looks like everyone in the Polar Star gang managed to survive by one day… for now. Now all the students have to serve 50 servings each to the muscular athletes. I felt sorry for Yuuki as she was looking forward to relax but now she can’t. The way she mellowed in despair was pretty funny to watch. It does seem rather unfair on all the students that they have to prepare all those dishes straightaway when they came back from a stern test. It’s amazing how quickly Soma prepared those 50 dishes. I hope Ikumi and Megumi and the rest of the Polar Star Gang manage to make those 50 dishes just in time.

Soma and Erina humming to the ending song was pretty fun to watch. Soma’s humming and dancing was really funny watch whilst Erina’s humming was relaxing to watch. I didn’t think they would bump into each other any time soon. I wonder what’s going to happen next. I’d imagine Erina is just going to give Soma a lot of verbal abuse. Haha.

FA Cup Trophy

It’s the FA Cup Final today and I’m really looking forward to it. As I understand it if Villa win the cup, they play in the Europa League next season, if Arsenal win, Southampton play in the Europa League next season.

Either way I do feel sorry for the English teams who play in the Europa League as it must be gruelling for them to play on a Thursday and a Sunday. Look what happened to Everton. They finished at the bottom half of the table. I get the feeling that the same could happen with Southampton. They had a fantastic season last season but if they play in the Europa League next season then I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t do as well as they did this season. Having said all that, they played above expectations this season and just ran out of steam near the end. I’m very pleased for them. =)

Anyway- my FA Cup prediction.

It’s going to be Arsenal 3-1 Aston Villa. I think Arsenal will just nudge Villa out but I don’t think they’ll keep a clean sheet. Let the fun times roll. =)

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Episode Nine

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick up Girls in a Dungeon anime

It’s really nice that Bell has finally met Welf Crozzo. When it turned out that Bell’s armour was made by a blacksmith called Welf Crozzo I pictured him to be an ancient blacksmith who is quite advanced in years. It turns out that that red haired fella is the actually the Welf Crozzo. It did cross my mind that he could be Welf but I rubbished it as I thought he was going to be elderly. I was wrong. Haha.

I immediately took to Welf. I think he’s rather cool. Even if there were a few things he didn’t reveal straightaway I didn’t sense any particular dark secrets from him. It’s just that he’s had a bad stigma involving his family name. His philosophy and views on making weapons are really cool too. A weapon is not just a tool it’s a part of who you are. It’s a very cool philosophy indeed. =)

I think it was kind of Mama Mia to allow Ryu and Syr to accompany Bell and Lili to celebrate him moving up to level two. I know she’s a firm but fair lady but she is seriously someone you don’t want to be on the wrong side of. Ryu is able to hold her own against those nasty men but they literally ran in fear when Mia slammed that desk hard. In a way I wanted them to be disrespectful to Bell and Ryu as ultimately they will run with tails between their legs when Mia gets involved. Haha.

It was fun watching Hestia tease Bell. It was also funny how she managed to get him the nickname of “Little Rookie.” I can see why Hestia chose to go with a sensible nickname as it will be a nickname that will stick with Bell. In a way, I think Little Rookie fits Bell very well. It seems like another God called Takemikazuchi has someone in his familiar who has levelled up too. I wonder who this Yamato Mikoto is. I would want to research her but I don’t want to be spoiled so I will resist the urge to research. Haha.

Bell’s Argonaut skill looks pretty wicked. I get the feeling that that skill alone goes hand in hand with Realis Phrase. Realis Phrase makes Bell level up quicker and Argonaut is about gauging the level of the monster and this makes it easier for Bell to beat that monster.

It was fun to see how Welf melds his weapon. When he poured that liquid thing over the Minotaur thorn I actually thought it looked like a delicious melty chocolate. Haha. The weapon he created looks pretty cool. I’m not sure about the name though. Ushiwakamaru is a bit of a mouthful and I’ve already bit my tongue twice just trying to pronounce it. Haha.

I would have liked to see more of the Loki Familiar in action. I reckon more would have been said in the LN, especially from Aiz’s point of view. Everyone is obviously pumped up and hugely motivated at how quickly Bell reached level 2. I wonder when they will finish their expedition.

Bell, Hestia, Lili and Welf Endcard

Sometimes I don’t like watching this show straightaway as once I’ve watched it, it’s all done and over with. It is a shame.

The first volume of the manga version got 6th place in the New York Times this week. This makes me rather pleased. In my eyes Dungeon Girls (which I’ve often call this show to condense the title) deserves to be really succesful. =)  I would buy the manga but it’s on my birthday list as I think it would make a rather nice present. =)

My Acupuncture Experience

Acupuncture

Recently I went to have Acupuncture to treat an on-going back problem

I have to admit and say that I really enjoy it. I can somewhat feel the needles as they enter my body. If I were to describe it, I would say that it’s like a magnetic/electric wave spreading through my body. However, once they settle down I can’t feel them.

It really does work, I feel, as I tend to be pain free for a few days afterwards. If there’s a downside I would say that I feel very lethargic a good while. Tiredness is not necessarily a bad thing.

I didn’t really have the energy to talk much when I went to my brother’s Eurovision gathering. I went as the UK/England as there’s no country that I would rather represent then my own.

Triage X Episode Eight Thoughts

Triage X anime

I didn’t think that there was going to be a deep connection between Arashi and Hitsugi. I just assumed that Arashi just had a deep bond with Mikoto and Oriha as they’re all part of the Ampule One group and they’re similar age. I also assumed that Arashi and Hitsugi were merely acquaintances and that was that. How wrong I was. They go way back. Back to when Arashi was in rehab and that was when they first developed their bond.

Hitsugi had a pretty sad past and it makes a lot of sense why she wore that Shinto-type mask as it hid more than just her face. It shielded away her heart and emotions. As far as I can gather she went on that rampage because she was really upset and lost sense of herself. I kind of had an idea at the beginning that Arashi was going to be the one to stop Hitsugi’s rampage, and not Yuuko, who was the one that killed and saved her.

I was a bit shocked when Hitsugi locked lips with Arashi. I was somewhat spoiled before that there was kiss involved in this episode but I never would have thought that Hitsugi would be the one that steals Arashi’s first kiss. In a weird way I do think it was a sweet moment as it felt like Hitsugi has really let her troubled past go.

I’m actually pleased that this was a Hitsugi related episode as I felt like she wasn’t really that relevant despite being super strong. I actually feel that I know more about Inspector Tatara and Suzue than I did with Hitsugi. I learned in this episode that all the long she has a beautiful bond with Arashi. It makes me intrigue as to what Arashi’s relationship is like with Miki and Yuuko.

I get the impression that Suzue is going to be kidnapped soon. In the last episode Tatara mentioned that Suzue has been working hard doing some investigation. I wonder if Suzue’s investigation involves the Syringe group. Perhaps Syringe is planning to kidnap Suzue as she knows a lot about them? Perhaps they plan to kidnap Inspector Tatara. I’m not exactly certain what’s going on in that regard. I’ll find out soon enough, I’m sure. =)

Thanks for Reading. =)

Triage X Episode Seven Thoughts

Triage X anime

Hohoho, so it turns out that this D99 virus/vaccine thing that Dr Mochizuki created is the reason that Arashi is alive. If Arashi was in that village that Dr Mochizuki visited then I would imagine that Arashi would be the ‘chosen one.’ Mikoto was lovely when she comforted Arashi. I think she’s beginning to understand him bit by bit, but I think Hinako still provides a healthy competition to Mikoto as far as romance is concerned.

I wonder how the group, Syringe, knew about this D99 drug thing. In the flash back it showed 5 people in silhouettes, but one person was indistinguishable. I bet that person is the one who revived that medical drug, perhaps enhancing it in his/her unique way.

It turns out that that shooter was Inunaki. Good job he isn’t a villain. Or is he? How did he know about the whole cargo information thing? I have a mini speculation… Perhaps Inunaki is somehow the one who brought back the D99 drug? Then again, what would he gain if he was a double agent for the enemy?

It seems like there was a three-way battle to gain the Platinum Lily drug. Syringe got one of the briefcases whilst Black Label got the other and Kyoji is left with no drug. They seem to be more than a match for Ampule Zero and appear to be much stronger than the likes of Arashi and Mikoto from Ampule One. I quite enjoyed the fights in this episode.

I’m disliking Kyoji more, especially with the way he treats the ladies. It makes me admire Goryu a lot. She is taking his abuse without complaining. I wonder how she would feel if Black Label got their hands on Kyoji. Would she be sad or be glad if he gets killed? Having said all that she looked nice in that maid outfit with cat ears.^^/

I was a little sad to see Hitsugi being beaten down like that but I really like the way Yuuko cut the floors quickly in order to get Hitsugi out of that situation. I wonder what happened to her right at the end. It’s as if she woke up with a different personality altogether. Eep.

Thanks for Reading. =)

  1. REVIEW

WARNING: I MAY GIVE SPOILERS AWAY

I thought this anime was amazing and it’s definitely my kind of show. When I first watched No Game No Life I laughed a lot, but when I re-watched this I actually laughed much more than I did on the first occasion. And I enjoyed it just as much.

What I especially like, aside from the comedy, is the type of battles that take place. I always wanted to see a battle without the use of violence of physical punch up and No Game No Life offers just that. It’s like a battle of wits and intelligence as well as the use of mind games. Everything is literally decided through games and I really, really like that kind of concept. It’s unique but very refreshing.

The battles, which are never resolved with violence, are far from boring. I find them incredibly exciting and clever. There are scenes or little dialogue quips that often indicate a victory for Blank. When I’ve watched this show for the first I was amazed at how clever these hints were and I really like how the flow of the battles and story go. I like the sort of games that were played too. You could literally play any kind of game. Chess games suits Kurumi and the word game suits Jibril as she is the playful type who likes to mess around.

The last battle of the show was just brilliant and I especially liked how everyone kept on dodging and shooting each other. They kept on cancelling each other out. I was especially pleased that Izuna ended up having fun playing against Sora and Shiro. It’s nice to see that enemies can get along. Well, to be honest, I don’t think there are any enemies that exist in this show, they’re more like challengers. Izuna is a good example. She was playing a game to keep her country’s territory but I wouldn’t say she’s an enemy as she didn’t really do anything wrong. Her fellow countrymen didn’t do anything wrong either. They cheated in games but they could get away with it because they never get caught.

I like the concept that each chess piece represents certain life races, with Inmanity being in 16th place. I think Sora and Shiro want to conquer all the races so that when they come together, they can take on Tet, aka, God. He’s a cool customer Tet but I wonder if he held himself back when he played Blank in that chess game. All the other races are cool too. I especially like the elves and Fifi, but I also like Jibril and the Flugel race. It makes me curious what the higher ranked races are like, especially the Phantasm who appear to have their own travelling planet to stay on.

The Ex Deus no doubt will be incredibly strong but so far I get the impression that they’re acting like advisors for Tet. The Phantasm look to be a formidable race too. They have their own planet/land type thing that floats and travels in the air so they must be strong.

Sora and Shiro are actually quite interesting as individuals. For two people who do not blend in society well they certainly have adapted to this game world. It’s quite interesting how Sora was able to read situations and atmosphere as well as out-witting people. If someone lacks experience in society you would have thought he’d struggle to read the atmosphere and understand how people’s minds work. Perhaps he studied psychology and observed people. There’s a difference between observing people and interacting with them.

I seriously feel sorry for Steph. Sora and Shiro completely use her and humiliate her in many ways. It went to the point where they used her name as a derogatory term. Haha. I actually think Steph is the best character in this show and I really think she’s underrated and overlooked due to being a “Steph.” Whoops, I just insulted her by accident. Haha. I think it’s pretty funny how Steph’s Granddad resembles the same King from the deck of cards. Haha. =D

If Steph never existed in this show then Sora and Shiro would never have won many battles. And if it wasn’t for her Blank would have lost to Izuna. I think deep down I knew or more like I wanted, Steph to be the one that brings Blank victory. What I also like about Steph is her over the top reactions and when she was in a love-struck mode over Sora. I could literally not stop laughing when she banged her head on the tiles to the point where her head was bleeding. I was literally crying with laughter. =D

Super Clive Mendonca Day

Super Clive Mendonca Day

I have a Charlton related blog in mind that I was going to post next month but as today is Super Clive Mendonca Day I figured it would be appropriate to write a blog dedicated to Super Clive.

I started off as a Manchester United supporter but for some reason I’ve always had a soft spot for Charlton Athletic. I would silently cheer them on every time I saw them on Soccer Saturday. I would cheer for them loudly for the very first time when they played Sunderland in the Play-Offs 1998. I remember that day like it was yesterday.

Every time Sunderland scored I would run up to my room crying. But, every time Charlton scored my parents would beckon me and I would run down to be glued to the TV. I cheered for Charlton with all my might, I was especially cheering for the one and only Super Clive.

It was really nail-biting stuff when it came to penalties and I vividly remember Alan Curbishley shielding his face with his hands as he couldn’t bear to watch the penalties. Then came the moment when Sasa Ilic saved that penalty which won Charlton the game and thus earned them promotion to the Premiership. It was on that day, the Play-Offs 1998 that I realised there and then that I was actually a Charlton supporter. Super Clive then became my Football Hero. How many footballers can say that they’ve scored a Hat-Trick at Wembley? Not many, that’s for sure.

It’s a shame that Super Clive spent the rest of his career battling injuries which ultimately led to his retirement. I reckon he would have made a great player for the Premier League if he didn’t have so many injuries. I think he would have looked good in an England shirt too. =) Still, I will always remember him for being a great player for Charlton Athletic and scoring hat-tricks for fun. =)

I wonder if there will be any hat-trick heroes today between the Norwich and Middlesbrough game. Who will earn promotion to the Prem? I’m not sure of the score but I have a feeling that Boro will just edge it.

Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma Episode Eight Thoughts

Food Wars Shokugeki no Soma

Every time I see Soma’s smug and confident face I literally crack up.

To get into Totsuki Culinary Academy you have to be pretty skilled and pass the introduction test. However, even though the passing rate is like 1% or 10% there are still quite a lot of students attending, especially in the first year. Why so many? It turns out that the real test begins on this camp trip. More students will no doubt be expelled and sent home.

I was expecting to see Soma’s Dad there as he is probably one of the best chefs in the world. But, the chefs at that camp have to be alumni of that school and Jouichirou did not necessarily go to that school. I suspect he did though but it will probably be revealed later.

The Takumi twins and Erina appear to have passed the test no problem so it’s now up to Soma and Megumi to make sure that they pass the test. Out of the Polar Star Gang I hope Ryouko and Yuuki pass their tests as I’m rather fond of them. I wouldn’t mind if Shun passes too. As for Zenji and Shouji… I wouldn’t lose sleep if they failed. Haha.

I knew that Takumi was going to be arrogant and I was really pleased when he was brought down to size by Hinako, the adorable chef teacher. It was especially funny when Soma was taking the mickey out of him. Even Takumi’s twin brother, Isami, thought that Takumi made a fool out of himself. XD

Megumi, Ryouko and Yuuki Eyecatch

I’m really looking forward to seeing what sort of dish Soma and Megumi come up with. I also hope we get more glimpses of Ikumi and we see more of Hinako, I think she really is cute. It was especially cute when she casually started to eat a packet of crisps on a side table. I don’t think many chefs would be that laid back.
