Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Episode Thirteen Thoughts

Hestia Endcard

I must say that I am impressed with the final episode. Usually the final episodes are either a hit or a miss. For me, this was a hit. It was really exciting as it was full of intense fights and action. I do wonder though, was that the same Monster Rex that Aiz beat by herself? Ryu estimated it to be a level five boss so it could very well be the same one. My thoughts will probably be answered in the books, but it’s not really that important. The important thing is that it was beaten.

I think the Monster Rex and the other dungeon monsters brought the best out of everyone. My wishes came true when we got a glimpse of just how cool and strong Ryu really is. She did extremely well and held her own not just against a monster rex, but a level five monster rex.

The ones that mattered the most I think were the most impressive. Welf swallowed his pride and used his own magic item sword to attack that monster rex. It looked like it managed to do some damage too. I really liked Ryu’s wind magic and I’m amazed that she was able to stand after using her spell and taking some damage. I especially liked Mikoto’s technique. It was as if she was using a samurai sword in form of magic to slice through that floor boss and covered that magic glow around that floor boss. She managed to keep him at bay for a good while as well. Good for her. I wonder what level she is. Level 2? Level 3 maybe? I need to make a big shout out to Asif. I liked the wings on her back. I’m guessing she’s as strong as Ryu.

All those adventurers played a humongous part as it led to Bell powering-up and eventual victory. His powered-up Firebolt was impressive and I think it aggravated the Monster Rex which made it focus on Bell instead of Ryu and Asfi. However, after Hestia and Lili’s encouragement and remembering his Grandpa’s words he woke up, refreshed. It looks as if he used a sword from the Loki Familia. Whether one of the Loki fighters left it behind or not, I’m not sure, but I’m pretty certain that Bell used it. He wielded that sword pretty well and he managed to cut the Monster’s top half of the body.

Ultimately he destroyed the rest of the body using the Hestia Knife. To me, that was a great way to beat a floor boss. I expected him to faint afterwards but luckily he managed to stay conscious. He must be close to Level 3 now.

What Hermes said at the end was quite interesting. This Zeus person that he mentioned… it’s implied that this Zeus is Bell’s Granddad. Does that mean that Zeus, a God, actually has his own familia and is related to Bell? If that’s the case then it would make a lot of sense. I wonder if that means that Bell belongs to two familias? One familiar led by Zeus, the other, by Hestia. I think it also makes a lot of sense of the fact that in Greek myth Zeus has many, many children with many Goddesses due to his reputation being intimate with women. Haha. In Greek myth Zeus and Hestia are also siblings. Demeter is also Zeus’ sister. In this show he’s very much into women and has encouraged Bell to be affectionate when it comes to the ladies. However, his scenes were a regular part of Bell’s flashbacks and thoughts.

I could be way off the mark here but I personally believe that this could be the case. =)

I’m glad the Loki familia didn’t come back to help Bell as I wanted everyone in his party to show off their abilities. I’m also glad that Bell saved those who have mistreated him in the Labyrinth Utopia. His attitude is really what sets him apart from the other adventurers. He reminds me of Edward the Blue Engine. He’s kind to others, even if they mistreat him badly. That’s the kind of dude Bell is.

I am glad that Bell, Hestia and his party joined Aiz and the rest of the Loki Familia at the Mistress of Abundance. It was nice to see them all having a meal together. I reckon it will be only a matter of time before Bell’s party works together with Aiz’s party. That will be fun to watch.

Bell sleeping on Hestia’s lap was a nice way to end the series.

Thanks for Reading. =)

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Episode Eleven Thoughts

Bell and Hestia Endcard

I was a little nervous as I really didn’t know what was going to happen. Bell and his party looked like they were in pretty bad shape. Still, I’m glad they managed to reach the eighteenth floor and even managed to get past that Goliath. I wonder how that Goliath was able to respawn so quickly. Perhaps a lot of time passed between the last episode and this one? Or maybe it respawned through special circumstances. Hopefully, Freya is not involved and that is just a coincidence.

I really like the look of the eighteenth floor, the Labyrinth Utopia. The tree and the crystal ceilings are beautiful. I was just as surprised as Bell to learn that this floor also has a town. It makes sense as this designated area is actually a safe point. It’s pretty handy.

It seems that the Loki Familiar have finished their expedition. I’m going to assume that they managed to complete the 59th floor. Many congratulations to them. I bet it’s going to be big news when they go back to the surface as it is a big deal. I’m glad that Bell got to see Aiz again. I must say that I didn’t think that the Loki Familiar would appear again so quickly. I’m glad they did as it meant that we get to see Aiz again.

I knew Mikoto would be the one that would do the Dogeza pose. I think Bell forgave Mikoto and her party as he didn’t seem as angry or as unforgiving as Lili and Welf. I did expect that though. I think something is up with that Mikoto girl and I think Bell is sensing that something is up with her. I just think she looks sad all the time, then again, it could be just the way that she’s been drawn. Haha.

Bell and Hestia’s reunion was touching and almost perfect- until Lili dragged Hestia off of Bell. Haha. I sort of feel bad as I thought it was funny with the way that Hestia was rolling down that mountain. XD It was also funny when she interrupted Bell’s and Aiz’s moment when Aiz invited him out to town. Technically, Hestia is wrong here. Bell didn’t invite Aiz out, Aiz invited Bell out. So, Hestia could still be the first one for Bell to ask out to town. Well, Hestia was Bell’s first ever date, depending on how you look at it. Lili was there too, albeit, we only hear her rather than see her.

Does Aiz not know what a date is? I can’t really decide if she was annoyed at those Amazon twins for making a fuss over Bell or if she was a little jealous. She is a very pure lady so she wouldn’t flirt with Bell in the way they did as she shows affection through less physical means. I know she will willingly give Bell lap pillows but I don’t think that counts as flirting.

Hestia is right to be suspicious of Hermes as I am as well. Who told Hermes to take a look at Bell? Oh dear, don’t tell me he’s in cahoots with Freya. In the previous episode I had a theory that Hermes and Freya could be at war with each other and both would want to take Bell away from Hestia. But what if they were actually working together?

They’re two episodes left and the season needs to finish strongly with a dramatic twist. What if a bunch of Minotaurs venture down to the eighteenth floor whilst the Loki Familiar battle Goliath? It has already been shown that the monsters can go onto different floors with a push in the right direction, mostly from Freya. Something is going to happen I reckon and I wouldn’t be surprised if Hermes spearheads that operation against Bell and co.

That and it looks like Welf gets a new weapon from Hephaistos. He doesn’t look happy about it. If that is a new weapon and not a blacksmith tool then he will need to show what he can do in the dramatic ending battle. And I really would want to see more of Ryu in action. It was only brief but she certainly knows how to take the monsters down. =)

One final note, Argonaut is a good name for Bell.

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Episode Ten Thoughts

Hestia Endcard

I do feel sorry for Bell and his party. If it weren’t for Ouka, Mikoto and their party steering monsters Bell’s way then Bell and his party would have been safe. It’s a good thing that the 18th floor is a safe point. I thought Bell’s salamander cloak was just a design to make him look cool, but as it turns out the cloak acts like a defensive shield as well. He looked pretty darn awesome when he wiped the floor with those Minotaurs. I think he’s got a good battle strategy against the Minotaur people now. Bell and co have done pretty darn well not to get killed yet.
It was funny how Welf and Lili were calling those rabbits Bell as Bell has often been described as a white rabbit. Haha.

Freya, the evil goddess, mentioned about how she was the only one who should “play with him,” obviously referring to Bell to be the one that she “plays” with. But, was she directing that sentence at Hermes? It seems weird how he’s suddenly came onto the scene and has taken an interest in Bell. I doubt it will be the same level of obsession as Freya’s but I do find it weird that he’s taken a sudden interest. If my theory about Hermes is right then I wouldn’t be surprised if he has a psychological battle with Freya where the victor gets to “play with” Bell.

I’m somewhat excited yet nervous about Hestia going into the dungeon, even if she is guarded by Ajif and Ryu. Ryu looks pretty darn cool in her cloak and for a good while I was sort of wishing that I would see her in action, because I know she will be awesome in the dungeon. I wonder if they will manage to get to Bell in time. I reckon Ryu and Mikoto will slice up the big monsters just as Bell passes out or something in the next episode.

Speaking of Mikoto, I’m glad we actually get to see her as I was wondering what she looked like. She looks pretty but I do think her eyes look sad. Perhaps it’s because she’s a serious character. She certainly had the look of guilt when she ran with the rest of her party to safety. I reckon she will be apologetic to Bell when this whole ordeal is over.

Speaking of seeing new faces, we actually get to see Nahza, Miach’s only Familiar member. Hurray. I would have liked to hear her speak but I’m happy that we just get to see her.

I wonder if Hestia and Hermes will get reprimanded for going into the dungeon. Hephaistos and Miach are going to overlook it, but will Freya? Freya is obviously stalking Bell from a distance and she will no doubt spot Hestia and Hermes in the dungeon. I am somewhat concerned about this as Freya could easily blackmail Hestia as Gods and Goddesses are forbidden from entering the dungeon. Hopefully, it won’t come to that.

One more thing to say… Hestia looks really cute in those glasses. Is that a disguise? It’s a bit of a poor attempt if it is. Haha.

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Episode Nine

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick up Girls in a Dungeon anime

It’s really nice that Bell has finally met Welf Crozzo. When it turned out that Bell’s armour was made by a blacksmith called Welf Crozzo I pictured him to be an ancient blacksmith who is quite advanced in years. It turns out that that red haired fella is the actually the Welf Crozzo. It did cross my mind that he could be Welf but I rubbished it as I thought he was going to be elderly. I was wrong. Haha.

I immediately took to Welf. I think he’s rather cool. Even if there were a few things he didn’t reveal straightaway I didn’t sense any particular dark secrets from him. It’s just that he’s had a bad stigma involving his family name. His philosophy and views on making weapons are really cool too. A weapon is not just a tool it’s a part of who you are. It’s a very cool philosophy indeed. =)

I think it was kind of Mama Mia to allow Ryu and Syr to accompany Bell and Lili to celebrate him moving up to level two. I know she’s a firm but fair lady but she is seriously someone you don’t want to be on the wrong side of. Ryu is able to hold her own against those nasty men but they literally ran in fear when Mia slammed that desk hard. In a way I wanted them to be disrespectful to Bell and Ryu as ultimately they will run with tails between their legs when Mia gets involved. Haha.

It was fun watching Hestia tease Bell. It was also funny how she managed to get him the nickname of “Little Rookie.” I can see why Hestia chose to go with a sensible nickname as it will be a nickname that will stick with Bell. In a way, I think Little Rookie fits Bell very well. It seems like another God called Takemikazuchi has someone in his familiar who has levelled up too. I wonder who this Yamato Mikoto is. I would want to research her but I don’t want to be spoiled so I will resist the urge to research. Haha.

Bell’s Argonaut skill looks pretty wicked. I get the feeling that that skill alone goes hand in hand with Realis Phrase. Realis Phrase makes Bell level up quicker and Argonaut is about gauging the level of the monster and this makes it easier for Bell to beat that monster.

It was fun to see how Welf melds his weapon. When he poured that liquid thing over the Minotaur thorn I actually thought it looked like a delicious melty chocolate. Haha. The weapon he created looks pretty cool. I’m not sure about the name though. Ushiwakamaru is a bit of a mouthful and I’ve already bit my tongue twice just trying to pronounce it. Haha.

I would have liked to see more of the Loki Familiar in action. I reckon more would have been said in the LN, especially from Aiz’s point of view. Everyone is obviously pumped up and hugely motivated at how quickly Bell reached level 2. I wonder when they will finish their expedition.

Bell, Hestia, Lili and Welf Endcard

Sometimes I don’t like watching this show straightaway as once I’ve watched it, it’s all done and over with. It is a shame.

The first volume of the manga version got 6th place in the New York Times this week. This makes me rather pleased. In my eyes Dungeon Girls (which I’ve often call this show to condense the title) deserves to be really succesful. =)  I would buy the manga but it’s on my birthday list as I think it would make a rather nice present. =)

Thanks for reading. =)
